A true beginner class. Students will learn to recognize, read and write the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, as well as basic grammar skills. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is necessary.

Prayer Fluency

If you feel lost during Shabbat worship and want to learn to be "liturgically literate," this class is for you. This class focuses on learning to read and chant the prayers that make up the backbone of our communal worship services. Beyond the Hebrew basics, students will learn about the spiritual significance of each of these prayers, as well as the body motions traditionally associated with them. Students should have a command of the Hebrew alphabet to take Prayer Fluency. The next class will be offered in the Fall of 2008. Registration will begin this Spring.
