Cantor Debi Zeiontz trained for the cantorate at The Jewish Theological Seminary in Manhattan. During this time Cantor Zeiontz held positions as student cantor at East Midwood Jewish Center in Brooklyn, NY and Congregation Mount Sinai in Brooklyn Heights, NY. She was also a soloist and member of Park Avenue Synagogue and Congregation Beth Sholom's professional High Holiday choirs. She has taught first and second grade Hebrew School, and has trained hundreds of B'nei Mitzvah candidates. Some of "Cantor Debi's" finest Shabbat memories are from her days as Tot-Shabbat and Mini-Minyan leader at Congregations in San Francisco and New York.

Cantor Zeiontz was born and raised in New York and New Jersey, where she was a member of the JFTY and NFTY youth groups, and where she fell in love with the beautiful, soulful and joyous music of the Reform Movement while attending Camp Eisner and Camp Kutz. In her junior year of high school, Debi was ranked as the #1 soprano H.S. student in the state of New Jersey and sang as a soloist with the All-State Chorus. A musician with diverse interests, Cantor Zeiontz has performed in more than 50 musical theatre productions, sang Madrigals for several years, and even skipped her senior prom in favor of performing at Dangerfield's Nightclub in Manhattan. Upon graduating from High School in 1984, Debi entered Ithaca College's prestigious music school to study voice performance and education.

Cantor Zeiontz, along with her husband Steve and their son Josh, is thrilled to be joining the Temple Sinai family.
