Confirmation/10th Grade
The 10th grade Confirmation class will spend the year exploring Judaism and Jewish issues, including a particular focus on social justice. Beginning with an opening Shabbaton retreat, the course will prepare students not
only for the Confirmation service in May, during which time the students will affirm their Jewish identities, but for the lifetime of Jewish growth ahead. Taught by Rabbi Perry, the class will also have the opportunity to
travel together to Washington, D.C.

L’Taken Social Justice Seminar in Washington, DC

Every year, members of the Confirmation class participate in the L’taken seminar, an intensive four-day study kallah in  Washington, DC focusing on Jewish values and social justice. Hundreds of Jewish high school students from congregations across the country come together to participate in this exciting event. This unique Washington experience enables students to explore public policy and social activism through a Jewish lens, and to visit the offices of their U.S. Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill. It also provides an opportunity for students to tour the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum as well as other Smithsonian exhibits, to participate in a Havdallah service on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial, and to visit Georgetown and other exciting Washington areas. It is a fantastic experience, fostering learning, tikkun olam, community-building and fun!

The cost for this program is $300.
