During this unsettling time, we have been blessed to receive so many inquiries from members about how they can help others. Here are ways we care for our neighbors and for the stranger from a distance.

  • “Ring My Bell” – Reaching out to our Sinai Family
We are checking on our Temple Sinai Family via telephone to see how we might best support each other. We would like to contact each and every family at Temple Sinai and many volunteers are needed! Email Jaimee Boettcher here and she will send you a list of families to call and questions to ask.
  • Bikor Cholim (“Visiting” the Sick)
If you or a loved one are a part of an at-risk community and would like a member of Temple Sinai to check on you, please fill out this form here.
  • Tzedakah
If you, your family or friends are in a position to help those congregants who may be in financial need, please consider a gift to Temple Sinai’s Congregant Relief Fund here.

Looking Beyond Sinai: Helping out the Greater Atlanta Community

They are also looking for the following donations/hand-me-downs: used game station and games for the Day Center, any kid-friendly electronics, recycled or new magazines, art project materials, and coloring and/or activity books for ages 5-16. These items may be dropped off at Temple Sinai on Monday, March 23 from 10:00 am–12:00 pm.
  • Created Connected Communities

  • Atlanta Community Needs
Creating Connected Communities has also compiled a list of needs around Atlanta for a variety of demographics including hungry children, vulnerable families and seniors. Click here for more information.
  • Virtual Volunteering
The website Catchafire matches volunteers with online opportunities that tap into their professional skills.
  • Jewish Family & Career Services
During these challenging times, JF&CS is here to help our community.  AgeWell Atlanta is collecting food for the JF&CS Kosher Food Pantry.  Click here for the most needed items and where you can drop them off. They are also continuing their important work with telehealth, virtual groups, webinars, and other digital platforms. Click here for a list of their currently available services. They also have 3 new support groups:
    • College student support
    • Parenting in a pandemic
    • Caregiver support during the pandemic

Our efforts to identify needs throughout Greater Atlanta are ongoing and will be provided as we have them to share. Temple Sinai is focused on providing support and outreach to congregants in need during this time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us, we will be glad to make all necessary connections and do all that we can provide love and support.

Wishing you an abundance of good health,
