Lynn Saperstein

During this year of a global pandemic with such reduced social gatherings or even quarantine, so many of our Adult Ed programs have been wonderful to look forward to, and especially awesome to be a participant of. My passion for life-long learning has been fostered by the compelling programming at Temple Sinai. As an active member of the Adult Education Committee, we have strived to accommodate our adult population with relevant and interactive programming, now provided virtually via Zoom. Be it Sunday Morning Learning, our two Book Clubs, clergy lectures & discussions or spiritual & holiday talks, I have found comfort knowing that my growth both spiritually and intellectually will be fostered.

For those of you who love to read, or if you love to listen to book reviews, our Temple Sinai (Rona Balser) Book Club is for you! Funded by the generosity of Rona’s husband, Bill, Rona was an avid reader and Chair of the Book Club for many, many years.

As a book lover myself, I have enjoyed our Club for so many reasons, mostly the ability to get together with congregants of many demographics, and listen to their interpretations and thoughts about whatever we may be reading at the time. Many of you may be familiar with our brilliant facilitator, Greg Changnon.

Greg brings the essence of each book and its characters to a level that only an experienced teacher can. Admittedly, and so importantly, during this pandemic, the Book Club has been a source of camaraderie and engagement for me.

Get engaged with Temple Sinai! Grow intellectually, spiritually…or just join Zoom to see other Sinai members. Seeing everyone together has reminded me that I am not alone during these otherwise difficult days. Moreover, the exchange of rich ideas and discussion has stimulated my thinking and has kept me engaged and present.

Feel free to contact me regarding upcoming educational opportunities, or if you have some thoughts on topics you’d love to learn about. My schedule is totally free (as long as this pandemic is here)!!
