Smartphones.  Where would we be without them?  With the simple swipe of a finger or a voice command, we have instant access to email, texts, twitter feeds, the weather forecast, directions, internet search engines, our music library, games, podcasts... Truly any information one could possibly want is available...as long as the phone battery doesn’t run out of juice!   Countless testimonials affirm that a dead phone battery, especially with no charging options available, is one of the more frustrating and debilitating experiences many could imagine, and thus we go to great lengths to plug in and recharge just about every opportunity we have.

How profound it would be if we understood and treated the human spirit with the same fervor and attention with which we regard our cell phone batteries. We exercise to take care of our physical selves and pursue knowledge to enhance our intellectual selves. But despite the stress, financial pressures, chaos, and more which confront and unquestionably drain us each day, few are intentional in our efforts to replenish our “spiritual batteries” and nurture our spiritual wellbeing.

For the next 50 days, though, we have the opportunity to change this. In recognition of Sinai’s 50th year and in conjunction with 50 day period between Passover and Shavuot (known as the period of the Omer), we are providing every person who wishes a dose of daily inspiration. Drawing upon Jewish tradition, each day will offer a brief thought, image, action, song, or more to help provide a spiritual re-charge for the day ahead.

To take advantage of these daily spiritual moments, all you have to do is opt in at the following link and check 50 Days of Spiritual Moments. https://www.templesinaiatlanta.org/members/my-subscriptions.php.

We hope these emails will help to provide a measure of spiritual uplift during the next 50 days.
