A Timely Discussion About Racism

Join Rabbi Segal in conversation with Reverend Dr. Gerald Durley and Andre Parker regarding the heightened tensions in Atlanta and in cities across the country as well as the perpetual challenges associated with systemic racism. What should we know or understand? How do we demonstrate support? How can we help effect change?

Dr. Gerald Durley remains a towering figure in the African-American and interfaith communities. A lifelong champion for civil rights and equality, Dr. Durley continues to model the importance of building bridges of understanding in the interfaith and interethnic arenas. He is a longtime friend of Temple Sinai and has addressed our congregation on numerous occasions through the years.

Andre Parker is a business owner and an advocate for justice and equality.  Andre has a degree in Business Economics, and has operated GLM Management LLC, a facility management company, and Mpact Maintenance Services, a janitorial franchise, for the last 16 years.  Andre is an Alumnus and Presidential Fellow of the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Mr. Parker is originally from Youngstown, Ohio. He  and his wife Blondie have 4 children and 2 grandchildren and currently reside in Marietta, GA.

This event will be streamed live from the Temple Sinai Sanctuary here and will be streamed live via the Temple Sinai Facebook page here. Both video streams will be identical but the Facebook stream will allow for comments and interaction.  You must have a Facebook account to participate.
