Kindergarten Consecration Dinner & Service
Friday, October 25, 2024 • 23 Tishrei 5785
5:00 PM - 7:30 PMSocial HallConsecration is the Jewish lifecycle event that formally marks the start of a child’s Jewish education. All kindergarten students in Jewish Day School and Noar Sunday are included in this special celebration. As part of the Consecration ceremony, each student will receive his/her own Torah scroll. Prior to the ceremony, parents and children together will prepare for the Consecration ceremony by making their own arks to house their Torahs.
We will take a group Consecration photo that will hang in the hallway joining the chain of Consecration photos throughout the years. The photographer will also offer the option for professional family photos and individual shots of each child.
Part of the program will involve your child's Hebrew name. There is a space on the RSVP form to write in your child’s Hebrew name. If your child does not yet have a Hebrew name, one of Temple Sinai’s clergy will reach out to you about getting one and even offer a special naming opportunity prior to the Consecration ceremony.
If you would like to invite grandparents or other extended family or friends to join, please feel free to include them.
Cost to attend
Adults (ages 13+) $18.00 per person
Children (3-13) $12.00 per child
