Thursday, June 11, 2020 • 19 Sivan 5780
12:00 PM - 1:00 PMhttps://tinyurl.com/sinaiworshipThis class will be Co-Taught by Rabbi Phil Kranz and Rabbi Ron Segal.
"And a word in due season, how good is it!" (Proverbs 15:23)
The author of Proverbs is addressing, of course, the importance of teaching and learning relevant topics. A particular tractate or book in the Talmud known as TA’ANIT (which literally means "fasts") explores, among other things, how a community is to respond in times of natural crisis - during a plague, for example. “What actions should the community take? What prayers are to be recited? Should they fast at all? What should they do when the crisis ends?” We’ll look forward to discovering answers to these timely questions and others as we study one of Judaism's great bodies of literature.
So, grab your lunch and join us for some Talmud study.
