Liturgical Prayer: Discovering Our Own Authentic Service - facilitated by Rabbi Ron Segal
One of the greatest treasures of Jewish religious life is the siddur, the prayer-book. It reflects generations of spiritual expression, with prayers that convey both praise and petition, great poetic richness, and nuanced theological reflection.  In this module we will investigate our personal prayer practices in the hopes of discovering ways that some prayers in the siddur might serve as a vehicle for genuine, heartfelt expression.

These 30 day courses are held from Sunday, February 3 - Saturday, March 2 - and are divided thematically into 4 one-week segments. The course will involve online instruction, personal at home practice, and one weekly in-person gathering.

Participation requires computer/online proficiency as well as the following expectations:

  • Watch a 30 minute introductory video each of the four Sundays
  • Engage in the specified prayer practice for 20 minutes, Monday-Friday of each week
  • Participate in an online forum (via Zoom software) with other Sinai members enrolled in the module for 1 hour on Thursday afternoons at 4:00 pm.

  • Attend the weekly gathering with Ron to process and discuss the week’s learning on Sundays at 12:30 pm

 

Each module is limited to 25 participants and the cost to participate is $25.
