Purim CARnival

Sunday, February 28, 2021 16 Adar 5781

11:00 AM - 12:30 PMTemple Sinai

Please note that this event is weather-dependent. An announcement will be made and you will be notified if we have to cancel due to the weather.

Join us for this year’s Sinai Purim CARnival, emphasis on the car! As the Sinai parking lot becomes a live telling of the Purim story, drive through to “boo” Haman from the window, enjoy carnival foods and win prizes from games along the way. Take a moment to step out of your car with your family for a hero themed photo shoot and most importantly, the dunk tank is back! Don’t miss the chance to dunk your favorite clergy and staff, and enjoy our time together to celebrate Purim as a community. With the exception of the open-air photo booth, all activities will take place from your car. Masks and social distancing enforced. Costumes encouraged. We can’t wait to shake our groggers together!

What you need to bring:

  • Please bring a box of pasta that will act as your Grogger as you drive through the CARnival. You will donate these boxes of pasta to Repair the World at a station where they will take it to help PAWKids, a non-profit committed to helping kids learn and grow.
  • Wear a costume! You will have a chance to take a picture as a family together either from your car or in front of a backdrop by a professional photographer!

What to expect:

  • You will be given a map of 10 stations that tell the Purim story, starting at the entrance:  At station 1, you will be given a bag with popcorn to snack on, as you make your way through the CARnival.
  • There will be more food stations, giving you a chance to collect 4 items to put in your bag. This makes a Mischloach Manot, a Purim bag of goodies that you are creating (from Sinai to you!) through the CARnival.
    • Food offered (individually packaged):
      • Snyder's prezels or Glutino pretzels
      • Cotton Candy
      • Cheez Its
      • Water Bottles
      • Our staff will let you know when to stop and go at each station.
  • You and your family will have the opportunity to get out of your car for photos, to throw your fears in the fire, dunk a rabbi in the dunk tank, and do a ring toss. These all can be done from the comfort of your car as well, it is completely up to you.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
