Raising Mensches & Spread Kavod (Respect): How to talk about race with our children.  Parents, please join us for this important discussion!

In this 2nd session of Raising Mensches, we have a timely discussion with, Marisa Kaiser, Dr. Josh Spitalnick, member of Temple Sinai, and Dr. Dion Metzger on how to show “kavod,” “respect,” when educating children about race and differences. Dr. Spitalnick and Dr. Metzger recently launched a podcast called “Shrinking the Issues” where they discuss how to find your happy, and are helping parents find theirs during this uncertain time.

Dr. Josh Spitalnick
Josh Spitalnick, Ph.D. is a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist and an Anxiety and OCD Expert. He is the Clinical Director and Owner of Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta, which specializes in innovative techniques and evidence-based therapies to treat anxiety disorders among all ages. He trains therapists around the country by sharing his expertise in treating pediatric anxiety, OCD, and health anxiety.

Dr. Spitalnick is well-known in the research community, having spent the last 10 years on improving the accessibility and treatment outcomes for anxiety disorders through technology. He has co-authored over 30 publications and has been a featured expert on NBC News, NPR, The Discovery Channel, ABC News and in the London Times.

Dr. Dion Metzger
Dion Metzger, MD is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who manages manages her own practice in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a health and wellness expert who has been featured on The Doctors, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), ABC, NBC, HLN, and in The New York Times. Dr. Metzger’s motto of “better mind, better life” encourages audiences to prioritize their mental health in life’s balance. She also is the co-author of The Modern Trophy Wife: How To Achieve Your Goals While thriving At Home, a book that gives women the tools to strengthen, deepen or revitalize themselves and their relationships.
