Do you love to work with children?
Do you want to be a role model for younger Jewish kids?
Do you like to work with your friends?
Do you need community service hours for school?
Well, this is the program for you!!!

What is the Madrichim Program?
Temple Sinai's Madrichim (Teen Counselors) Program is for teens who will be in grades 8-12 during the 2019-2020 school year. The Madrichim Program will enhance not only your Jewish knowledge and identity, but will also give you a chance to enhance the Noar experience for children Pre-K through 6th Grade. By becoming a Madrich/a, you will serve as a Teacher's assistant for our Noar Program on Sunday mornings and/or in our Noar Hebrew program on Sunday afternoons, helping the teacher with daily activities, leading small groups, helping with art projects, working with students who need some extra attention, and most importantly, serving as a Jewish role model for our kids! We also have Madrichim who help in the office, library, or arts & crafts rooms!

While this program is fun and very rewarding, it is a commitment! Because our teachers and students will depend on you every week, you must make this a priority. There are several requirements for being a Madrich/a, including:
-- Consistent attendance.
-- Participation in mandatory training sessions
-- Madrichim in 8th and 9th Grade and also enrolling in the Gesher Learning on Sunday mornings (11 AM - 12:15 PM) will be expected to be in their assigned classroom from 9:15 - 10:45 AM.
-- Madrichim in 10th Grade and also enrolling in Confirmation on Sunday mornings (9:30 - 10:45 AM) will be expected to be in their assigned classroom from 11 AM - 12:15 PM.
-- Noar Hebrew Madrichim are expected to have good Hebrew reading skills.

As a sign of our appreciation for your valuable work, Madrichim in grades 8-10 will receive community service hours for their time. 11th and 12th graders as well as Hebrew Madrichim (8th-12th Grade) may choose to either receive community service hours or get compensated at the rate of $7.50 per hour.

When will I know if I am accepted?
After all the applications are received, they will be reviewed and acceptance letters will be sent out officially welcoming you to the program by Friday, August 16th! At that time, you will also receive more information about the mandatory Madrichim training sessions as well as a contract. If applying after August 16, you will receive acceptance letters on a rolling basis.

PAYCHECK: If you are in 11th or 12th grade OR a Noar Hebrew Madrich(a) you may sign up to be paid. Everyone else will receive community service hours

Please tell us which program(s) you are available during and your top THREE choices of assignments. We will do our best to give you one of your top three choices.
