If you would like the opportunity to work alongside your friends and peers from Temple Sinai, to gain leadership experience and to be a part of helping strengthen the teen community at Temple Sinai, then the HUB Leadership Committee is for you. Additionally, you will gain valuable leadership, communication, and job skills that will benefit you throughout your life.
Before applying please consider if you have time in your schedule to attend monthly meetings, help with various assigned tasks, and communicate with the rest of the committee. This is a significant time commitment. This is a one-year commitment from August 2021 to May 2022 with the opportunity to reapply for the next year. There are many ways to be a leader in HUB without being on the HUB Leadership Committee
Purpose: The purpose of the HUB Leadership Committee is to create a meaningful, productive, and inclusive leadership structure and to provide teens opportunities to become well rounded leaders in HUB.
Structure: There are two HUB Leadership Committees: HUB 78 Leadership Committee and HUB 9-12 Leadership Committee. The HUB 78 Leadership Committee is for those in 7th and 8th grade and the HUB 9-12 Leadership Committee is for those in 9th - 12th grade.
HUB 78 Leadership Committee
Be part of the teen advisory team! The HUB 78 Leadership Committee is made up of 7th and 8th graders, and teens have the opportunity to envision HUB 78 Nights, Small Group Sundays, serve as a communications liaison, and more. 8th graders will also have the opportunity to directly assist in the planning process, learning event planning skills and program management.
HUB 9-12 Leadership Committee
HUB experiences for 9th - 12th graders is created BY teens FOR teens, through the HUB 9-12 Leadership Committee! Made up of 9th - 12th graders, the HUB 9-12 Leadership Committee will be in charge of planning and implementing HUB 9-12 Nights and Small Group Sundays for high schoolers, including directly planning the experiences and communicating them to their peers.
Being on the HUB Leadership Committee means you are committing to:
- Attending monthly in-person meetings – dates and times will be determined after selection of the team.
- Attend a kick-off retreat in August and a mid-year retreat in January.
- Co-Chair at least 1 HUB Night per semester.
- Enroll in HUB Bina and attend HUB Connect experiences.
- Help expand our HUB teen community by inviting other Sinai teens to participate in events.
- Must be able to work as a team, be a good communicator, and be willing to put in time outside of meetings to work.
- Be an active leader at all events.
