Registration for Mitzvah Day is now closed. We are excited to welcome more than 500 congregants on Sunday, October 14.
We look forward to giving back to the community with you!

Join us at our 50th Anniversary Mitzvah Day! Join us at Temple Sinai for a breakfast as we kickoff our Mitzvah Day and then head out to volunteer across Atlanta.

  • Friends of Israel Defense Fund (FIDF): We will make cards to be distributed to the FIDF soldiers.  At Temple Sinai. For ages 10 and up. (Opportunity Full)
  • Chastain Park Conservancy: Assist in the beautification and maintenance of the conservancy. At Chastain Park, 4001 Powers Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30342. Ages 5 and up. 
  • PAWS Atlanta: Play with the animals and assist in the organizing and cleaning of their temporary homes. At PAWS Atlanta, 5287 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30035. Ages 16 and up. 
  • Second Helpings: Assemble lunch bags, decorate the bags and write notes of encouragement for those in need. At Temple Sinai (kitchen). All ages welcome. 
  • Trees Atlanta: Let’s dig in and plant some trees. Meet at Warren Boys & Girls Club, 790 Berne Street, Atlanta, GA 30312. All ages welcome – anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  
  • Breman Museum: Volunteer and tour at the museum. At Breman Museum, 1440 Spring Street, Atlanta, GA 30309. Ages 10 and up. 
  • Community Assistance Center (CAC): Assemble toiletry bags and learn more about the CAC. At Temple Sinai. All ages welcome. 
  • The Packaged Good: Assemble toiletry bags for homeless veterans and write a card to send along. At The Packaged Good, 5517 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338. All ages welcome. OPPORTUNITY FULL
  • William Breman Jewish Home: Play bingo with residents. At William Breman Jewish Home, 3150 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30327. Ages 13 and up. 
  • Berman Commons Assisted Living and Memory Care: Join in on crafts and games with the residents. At Berman Commons, 2026 Womack Road, Dunwoody, GA, 30338. Ages 13 and up. 
  • Chattahoochee Nature Center: Help staff of the nature center setup for their “Harvest on the Hooch” festival. Volunteers will be given free entry to the festival, which is from 1-4 PM. At Chattachoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell, GA 30075. Ages 10 and up. OPPORTUNITY FULL
  • Family Promise: Make bedtime bags for kids in need, including a stuffed animal, blanket, books, etc. At Temple Sinai. All ages welcome. 
  • Jewish Family & Career Services (JF&CS): Make dental hygiene kits for low income dental patients; make ‘Happy birthday’ and ‘Get Well Soon’ cards for seniors; create bookmarks for Holocaust Survivors. At Temple Sinai. All Ages welcome. 
  • Ronald McDonald House: Make snack bags for families of sick children to eat at the hospital. At Temple Sinai. All ages welcome.
  • SOJOURN: Arrive to the Pride Parade early to assist in the building of the Sojourn float. At Atlanta Pride Parade, 530 Dekalb Avenue Suite A, Atlanta, GA 30307.  All ages welcome. 
  • Atlanta Pride Parade: Walk the Pride Parade in support of LGBTQ rights with Temple Sinai. Meet at Temple Sinai to travel to parade together. All ages welcome. 
  • MDE School: Tend to the school garden and front flower boxes. 1517 Johnson Ferry Rd #100, Marietta, GA 30062. All ages welcome. OPPORTUNITY FULL
