Hi! I'm Avery Lyla Friedman, a proud Marylander who never imagined working in the Jewish community. Growing up I did everything possible to avoid temple and organized Jewish life, but a few years into college I realized how important and impactful the Jewish community can be. I became heavily involved at my local JCC, where I organized kids’ programs and taught both Hebrew school and preschool. After finishing undergrad I moved to Netanya for a year to teach English with MASA Israel Teaching Fellows. I fell hopelessly in love with Israel, made aliyah and spent the next several years working at a high-tech start-up in Tel Aviv and earning a master’s degree in Jewish Education from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I returned to the states to work with young Jewish adults as the Programs and Engagement Coordinator at Hillel at Washington University in Saint Louis. After three years of programming, leadership development, and community building on a college campus I decided I missed working with families and Jews of all ages. I’m extremely passionate about Israel, informal and experiential education, and pluralistic Jewish community. I’m excited to join the Temple Sinai community and can’t wait to explore Atlanta!

Hi all, my name is Carrie Bohn and I am excited to join the Sinai team as Congregational Engagement Manager! I am originally from Atlanta, and have just recently relocated back to the South from my time in Los Angeles. My career in Jewish nonprofit led me to pursue my Master’s in Jewish Nonprofit Management from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. While in school, I worked in programming at IKAR and prior to that I spent time at the Institute of Southern Jewish Life in Jackson Mississippi working in Jewish education. I love to cook, wander around farmers markets, and spend time with my dog Nina!
