7:00 PM - 8:00 PMtinyurl.com/sinaizoomroom

In partnership with JF&CS, this workshop designed for parents of young children, explores the importance of play in building skills for emotional regulation. Participants will gain an inside look into the techniques and goals of play therapy from the perspective of a clinician, as well as an opportunity to identify potential growth areas and play therapy solutions at home, in the classroom, and beyond. Developmental considerations, the importance of co-regulation, insight into the “language of play,” and more will be covered in this hour-long offering, as well as time for questions and discussion.

Our facilitator, Madeleine, is a clinician and community educator providing therapy and psychoeducation to people across the lifespan. Madeleine specializes in relational issues including family systems, couple relationships, and intergenerational and attachment trauma. Her mental health advocacy and educational work in the Jewish community focuses on assisting organizations and families in cultivating resilience through relationship and play. As a therapist, Madeleine uses creative, experiential, and evidence-based methods to help clients access and nurture parts of themselves that have been cut-off, isolated, wounded, or unexplored. Guided by principles of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), Madeleine facilitates a whole-brain, whole-body healing experience. She holds a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Mercer University, as well as degrees in Drama and English from the University of Virginia. She believes in the strength of families, couples, and individuals and is passionate about working with clients to uncover and support their unique, inherent gifts.
