Sinai Night at the Movies & Dinner with Discussion

Saturday, February 17, 2024 8 Adar I 5784

3:15 PM - 8:00 PMTara Theater & Sinai Social Hall

One of the highlights of the year is coming up with the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and that means Sinai Night at the Movies! This year, the Temple Sinai Brotherhood and Women of Sinai will be hosting a special event on Saturday, February 17th starting at 3:25 pm at the Tara Theater with the showing of Running on Sand.

Running on Sand is the funny and moving story of an Eritrean refugee in Israel who gets mistaken for a star soccer player. He is unsure which is more terrifying, the prospect of being discovered and deported or the prospect of everyone realizing he’s no good at soccer. Nominated for Best Picture at the Israeli Academy Awards, the movie is a mix of humor and heart and is sure to be a crowd favorite. After the movie concludes, we will regroup at Temple Sinai at approximately 5:30 pm for dinner catered by Breadwinner Cafe and a lively discussion led by Rabbi Levenberg and Atlanta film critic/AJFF board member and longtime Sinai member, Jason Evans.

Tickets to the dinner/discussion at Sinai are $18 and include dinner, beer/wine and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Tickets to the movie are separate and also $18.  We have a reserved block of seats at the Tara Theatre (2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30324).  You can purchase your tickets on the AJFF.org website here. Use Promo Code TS2024 when purchasing tickets to access seats in our block.  If you have patron tickets you can call 678-701-6107 or email at tickets@ajff.org for assistance being located on our block.

For those of you looking to attend the AJFF showing of The Goldman Case (7:40 pm Springs Cinema) or Gene Wilder (8:30 pm at the Tara), our event will conclude in time for you to enjoy those films.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
