WELCOME TO NOAR SUNDAY!

It is so good to be back in our space and welcoming so many faces - old and new - to Noar Sunday! We had an incredible first day of Noar together where students were able to explore the Mercaz (our outdoor learning center), experience the Cooper Outdoor Chapel for T'filah (prayer), and get to know new friends, teachers, and madrichim (teen assistants). If you haven't already, MEET THE TEACHING TEAM! Click each headshot for a video message from each teacher.

This week, we focused on beginning to build community in each bayit (home base). Our students worked together to get to know each other, collaborated on bayit expectations, and learned about what a day in Noar looks like. Each eidah (unit) also learned a little bit about their tzedakah (charitable giving) focus for the year. One of our values at Noar is economic justice and are partnering with the following organizations this year under the umbrella of Temple Sinai's Tzedek committee. We can't wait to share more of their work!

Shoreshim (K-1st) will focus on serving Backpack Buddies through tzedakah and mitzvah projects.

Chaverim (Grades 2-3) will focus on serving Second Helpings through mitzvah projects and tzedakah (this could be in monetary or material donations as needed).

Orim (Grades 4-5) will focus on serving Family Promise through mitzvah projects and tzedakak (this could be in monetary or material donations as needed). We will also be calling for volunteers the week of October 10 - 17, when Temple Sinai hosts families.

Zehut (Grade 6) will be focusing on Anti-Semitism through mitzvah projects and tzedakah.

Most importantly, we had an amazing first, fun day from start to finish!

We are looking forward to an incredible year of hands-on learning and fun with all of our students and madrichim and can't wait for our next session together, September 19th.
