This High Holy Day season has been truly incredible as our families and students have been able to gather again. There have been so many amazing moments of connection, learning, and celebration! We wanted to share a few of our favorite moments from Sukkot and Simchat Torah with you!

Kickoff to Noar B'Yachad

Last year, Temple Sinai debuted its virtual family program and we have been so excited to bring a new, in-person experience to families this year. This past week, Noar B'Yachad kicked off what is sure to be a great year together --which is what this program is all about! Throughout the year, families will celebrate Havdalah together and focus on the different ritual aspects of Havdalah. This first session focused on joy, which paired perfectly with our celebration of Sukkot, one of the most joyous festivals! Families participated in many activities together: a scavenger hunt on the Mercaz, decorating paper chains with positive intentions, curating positive pop playlists, and lots of learning with Rabbi Ron and the Senior Director of the Center for Learning and Engagement, Marisa Kaiser. It was a beautiful evening together!

Celebrating Simchat Torah

At Noar, our youngest students had a very special learning experience with Rabbi Ron. In celebration of Simchat Torah, another joyous holiday, our Pre-K and Shoreshim students were able to get up close and personal with Temple Sinai's Torahs. They learned about how to handle the Torah: using the yad (pointer) to touch the inside, how to roll and unroll it, and talked about some of the stories that make up the Torah. We loved seeing what for many of our young learners was a first time engaging with such an important part of Judaism!
