Yahrzeit Plaque

Our Yahrzeit Memorial sculpture occupies a prominent place just outside the doors of our Chapel. Commissioned for Temple Sinai, this original work of art, designed by Timothy Sutherland, not only beautifies our space but it also embodies the very spirit of our congregation. The highlight of this striking piece of Judaica is the use of nameplates to recall those whose death seems all too recent. In this regard the piece is indicative and reflective of Temple Sinai, a synagogue community sustained and nurtured over our 50 year history. Those who wish to commemorate the deep significance of the life of a loved one have inscribed the nameplates on the art piece lovingly. So, too, with our congregation: our synagogue community is comprised of loved ones who have chosen to recall relationships of significance within these walls. Purchasing and inscribing a nameplate will link your loved one to the many other family members and friend in our community. Future generations will read these inscriptions with pride, telling the stories of the individuals who have come before. They will gain insight into what is most important to this generation: taking the time to celebrate the people we love and the lasting contribution they made.
We cannot guarantee that we can keep names together, but do our best to accomodate.
