We are looking forward to a great semester full of fun, special programs, great learning and MORE! We are also looking forward to sending out the class directories so you can reach out to your Noar friends. Please email Rachel at rmoldovan@templesinaiatlanta.org if you do not want your information shared in the class directory.

Each Carpool Talk newsletter has a brief description of what your child did today, along with 2-3 open ended questions you can ask them to keep the conversation going.

All Eidot (units) started the day with Boker Kehilah (morning meeting) to learn about the Middah of the week and break the ice!

Hebrew letter of the week: Vet (*it may be different for Shoreshim (Pre-K-1)

Jewish Life vocab of the week: Ruach (spirit)

Mensch Middah of the week: Ahava (Love)

Shoreshim (Pre-K-1)

This week in Bayit, we learned about the holiday of Tu B’Shevat by participating in a Tu B’Shevat seder.  In Chugim, our students rotated between a Tikkun Olam activity, an art lesson in which we made tree sculptures and enjoyed time outside. Students also enjoyed the Bible Players Comedy show and a workshop!

1. What did you learn about Tu B’ Shevat?

     2.   How does the holiday of Tu B’Shevat relate to nature?

    3.   What is Tikkun Olam? (It means repairing the world.)  What can our family do to practice this?

Chaverim (Grades 2-3)

This week in Bayit, we learned about slavery and baby Moses through acting out the story and making connections from the Torah story to other stories and history. Students also enjoyed the Bible Players Comedy show and a workshop!

1. What is the story of baby Moses?

2. How did it make you feel to learn about Moses’ story of Jewish people once being slaves in Egypt?

3. How do you think Miriam, Moses’s sister, felt when her brother became adopted by the Pharaoh's wife?

 Orim (Grades 4-5)

This week in Bayit, we learned about Bereisheet and Jewish Baby namings through a simulated Simcha, a science experiment, and a deep dive into the creation story. Students also enjoyed the Bible Players Comedy show and a workshop! Ask me these three things:

1. What is Bereisheet?

2. How do you have a “shem tov,” a good name?

3. What are some rituals around a Jewish baby naming?

Zehut (Grade 6)

6th grade students heard from their own teacher, Emily, about her grandfather's story in the Holocaust today. This is the last of their Holocaust unit. Students also enjoyed the Bible Players Comedy show and a workshop!
