Environmental Awareness
Looking for a safe way to dispose of that old laptop or printer cartridges? Bring them to our Electronics Recycling Drive on Sunday, December 10! Help reduce electronic waste by bringing them to Temple Sinai's parking lot any time between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm.Please note some items do require a fee and you will need to have cash in the exact amount to process them at drop off.Check out this document for the details.Thank you to the EAAC committee for sponsoring this drive.
Environmental Awareness & Action Conversations (EAAC) Meeting Tuesday, December 5, 7:00 pm (ZOOM) Come learn about Sinai's environmental initiatives and how you can participate. Please note this event is virtual only.
Refugee Winter Festival Saturday, December 9, 12:00 pm-2:00 pm and 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm Memorial Drive Ministries (5140 Memorial Dr., Stone Mountain, GA 30083) Volunteers are needed for the Refugee Winter Festival for kids sponsored by Friends of Refugees. We will be playing bean bag tosses and handing out lollipops. Contact the chair Maria Pico at mcpico@comcast.net by November 29 with questions and to sign up for either shift.
Sinai Family Shelter Holiday Host Week Sunday, December 17 through Saturday, December 23 Come together and directly impact the lives of others through our Sinai Family Shelter! Temple Sinai provides the facilities but we need your assistance providing dinner, miscellaneous supplies, overnight hosting, Saturday day hosting, helping the families move in and move out, and laundry.
CAC Food Pantry & Thrift Store Saturday, November 18, 9:00 am-1:00 pm The Community Assistance Center (CAC) has a "Client Choice" Food Pantry and Thrift Store that we staff the 3rd Saturday of each month.Please share a few hours of your time checking in clients, sorting and stocking foods & clothing, assisting with food & goods selections, bagging items, and ringing up clients orders.
USO Volunteers at the Atlanta Airport Sunday, December 24 & Monday, December 25, 10:00 am-2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Volunteers needed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to serve food to the troops. Two shifts both days. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Backpack Buddies Every Other Tuesday, 10:00 am Support kids in the metro Atlanta community by helping pack backpacks with food semi-monthly at Sinai! This initiative helps school-aged children who might not have food at home stay fed over the weekends. Click here to sign up!
Zaban Paradies Center Volunteers Thursday, January 25 The Zaban Paradies Center is located in Midtown and assists couples transitioning from homelessness to resettlement and independence. The shelter provides a hot meal every evening and volunteers are needed to provide the meal, along with 4 servers. Let’s work together to ensure our community is also fed.
